Thanksgiving 2009

Above is our grandson,Garrett, who just turned 11 in November.
We spent the afternoon with the family at a nearby community park taking a walk around the park, the kids played hide and seek and climbed on rocks. After we left the park we went back to their house and had ice cream and cake. Above are Garrett and his sister Isabella.

Picture of Lee, our son, David, his wife, Erica, at the community park.

Hide and seek

Those of you who have followed our blog know that I have been painting up a storm. I've got all the rooms in the house repainted now. This is a picture of our den just updated in a nice teal and a new sofa.
Our granddaughter, Carissa, does competitive cheering. It is extremely athletic and one must be a gymnast to handle the demand of the tricks.

Can you imagine????
Carissa and her good friend taking a well earned break after their routine. Carissa is on the right.

Several days after Thanksgiving we got together at my house for breakfast with my brother and his family.
It was wonderful to catch up with my niece, Monica. She lives in New York City and I don't get to see near enough of her.
This is my grand nephew, Simon, in his really cool hat.
Above are Davis and Donna Perry our good friends and neighbors with our grand daughter, Hollyn.
This is Joslyn and Mark, neighbors here on the farm. They came up to our house the evening after Thanksgiving and we celebrated Mark's 30th birthday with them.
This is Hollyn. She is 12 now and a real sweetheart. She spent Thanksgiving vacation with Nana and Papa and we totally enjoyed having her.
Our daughter, Suzanne, with Carissa and Hollyn.
This is Thanksgiving day. We ended up with 22 for dinner. Eleven ages 18 and under. Two young adults and nine adults. Amazing to look around the room and realize that the two of you are responsible for this group of people being here.
After a huge dinner Papa took all the kids out for a night time hay ride. The evening ended with everyone watching Peter Sellers and the Pink Panther, one of our family's favorites.
The over flow room
Our daughter, Suzanne, our son, Brandon, and our granddaughter, Hollyn. Looks like a deep conversation, doesn't it??
Hollyn and Nicky are really good buddies.
This is Monica, my niece, and her friend Alex. This was the first time we got to meet Alex and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him.
Monica and Alex
Don't they make a handsome couple??????

Fun with family Fall 2009

Some of the grand children came out to the farm for a beautiful fall day of fun and games.
Above is a picture of my daughter in law, Erica, and her daughter, Izzy, and three of their neighbors who joined us for the day.

The boys were busy doing what boys do. Gathering assorted creatures from the pond and getting dirty and wet.

These two really look like they are in deep conversation.
On the left is our grandson and on the right his friend.

The children and big children (adults) decided to get a kickball game going.

A good time was had by all!!

The children always look forward to taking a hayride.

Next group is waiting to get started.

I saw this car parked outside the hardware store and just had to take a picture. Isn't it cute?

This is a picture of my brother, Graham and his wife, Esmeralda, and their nephew, AJ.

My nephew, Stephen, his wife,Kelly, and their son Simon a master surf boarder.

We were all over at my sister's for a pre Thanksgiving get together and had a great time.

This is my sister, Jill, and her fiance, Barry. They will be getting married Dec, 30,2009. Don't they make a beautiful couple?

This is a picture of my nieces, Ashley and Brooke and their friend Amanda. They sure are three beauties.!

My new computer!!!!

I have repainted all rooms in the house but two. Last year I did the kitchen and the entry way. This year I completed the rest. This is a picture of our new den. It's a real pretty teal with a wall paper border that has maps on it.

This is Nicky checking out the new den.

I did the bathroom in a color called October orange. I really like it. It's very bright and cheery.

This is a picture of Graham's nephew, AJ, all dressed for Halloween. He made the costume---Isn't it awesome???

The boys still working on getting dirty and wet.

It's hard to tell but the hall is a new tan color.

The dinning room picks up the two colors of the carpet.

Our bedroom is painted Fresh Olive and I really like the color.

We're back at the pond now and this is all the girls who were here for the fall fun day. A pretty good looking group don't you think??

Did you ever notice that girls unlike boys actually enjoy posing???

As you can see Lee finished painting the barn. A big relief to me as I really don't like him up that high anymore.

Getting the fire ready for roasting hot dogs and making smores.

Our son, David, and Nicky trying to decide who's Frisbee it is.

Hot dogs and hot chocolate for everyone.

Nicky and his new friend. What fun they had playing together today.

Just one more ride Papa!!

Back at it again

Below is a picture of me and 5 of the members of my graduating high school class. We had a breakfast get together will Don and Lois were visiting us. What fun it is to catch up again with high school friends. So many great memories to relive.
This is Don and Lois and they were able to stay with us 3 days on a recent visit to Harrisburg. They live in Lecanto, FL and last year we spent a week parked in their back yard and they showed us a lovely time.

Toby and Nicky are good pals too.
