Thanksgiving 2009

Above is our grandson,Garrett, who just turned 11 in November.
We spent the afternoon with the family at a nearby community park taking a walk around the park, the kids played hide and seek and climbed on rocks. After we left the park we went back to their house and had ice cream and cake. Above are Garrett and his sister Isabella.

Picture of Lee, our son, David, his wife, Erica, at the community park.

Hide and seek

Those of you who have followed our blog know that I have been painting up a storm. I've got all the rooms in the house repainted now. This is a picture of our den just updated in a nice teal and a new sofa.
Our granddaughter, Carissa, does competitive cheering. It is extremely athletic and one must be a gymnast to handle the demand of the tricks.

Can you imagine????
Carissa and her good friend taking a well earned break after their routine. Carissa is on the right.

Several days after Thanksgiving we got together at my house for breakfast with my brother and his family.
It was wonderful to catch up with my niece, Monica. She lives in New York City and I don't get to see near enough of her.
This is my grand nephew, Simon, in his really cool hat.
Above are Davis and Donna Perry our good friends and neighbors with our grand daughter, Hollyn.
This is Joslyn and Mark, neighbors here on the farm. They came up to our house the evening after Thanksgiving and we celebrated Mark's 30th birthday with them.
This is Hollyn. She is 12 now and a real sweetheart. She spent Thanksgiving vacation with Nana and Papa and we totally enjoyed having her.
Our daughter, Suzanne, with Carissa and Hollyn.
This is Thanksgiving day. We ended up with 22 for dinner. Eleven ages 18 and under. Two young adults and nine adults. Amazing to look around the room and realize that the two of you are responsible for this group of people being here.
After a huge dinner Papa took all the kids out for a night time hay ride. The evening ended with everyone watching Peter Sellers and the Pink Panther, one of our family's favorites.
The over flow room
Our daughter, Suzanne, our son, Brandon, and our granddaughter, Hollyn. Looks like a deep conversation, doesn't it??
Hollyn and Nicky are really good buddies.
This is Monica, my niece, and her friend Alex. This was the first time we got to meet Alex and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him.
Monica and Alex
Don't they make a handsome couple??????
